Rhetorical devices: Symbol and metaphor

In this picture: 

Symbol:     - The pigeon symbolizes peace

                 - The gun symbolizes war

Metaphor: - The locked bird's cage implies confinement

* Massage: The war needs terminating to bring peace for people all over the world

A short story "Granfather's experience"

A grandfather talking to his grandson about a tragedy he witnessed:

- “I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one.”

- “Grandfather, which wolf will win the fight in your heart?” asked his Grandson.

- Grandfather answered, “The one I feed.”

Rhetorical device: Metaphor
In this story:

- "Two wolves" imply two opposite sides of quality existing in a person 

- "The vengeful, angry, violent" wolf implies the bad side

- "The  loving, compassionate" worlf implies the good side

- "The one I feed" implies the side which we do everything to promote 

* Message: In a person, there is always a fight between the good quality and the bad one. Therefore, to become a kind man, in daily life we should have positive thoughts and do helpful things to restrict bad side and promote good side.

Rhetorical: Parallelisim

In this quote, the author used parallelism in the parts of the sentence. "remember the past, plan for the future, but live for today" and "yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come"

* Message: People should stop worrying about the past or the future because they are only illusions. Yesterday cannot be changed and tomorrow "may never come" when time is always now. Therefore, the most important thing is that we try our best to do the greatest things at the moment.
