Item 1: Poem
Bring
Your Own Lunch [1]
By
Bruce Lansky
Don’t eat
school lunches—not even a lick.
They might make you nauseous.
They might make you sick.
Just take a small bite and
you’ll start to feel ill.
If the veggies don’t get you,
the meatloaf sure will.
Rhetorical
devices:
·
Overstatement: a small bite makes you feel
ill.
Message:
Go out for lunch.
Item 2: Fable
To
be sitting and doing nothing in business [2]
A Crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day.
-
A Rabbit asked him: “Can I also sit like
you and do nothing all day long?”
-
“Sure, why not?” the Crow answered.
So, Rabbit sat on the ground below the Crow, and
rested.
A Fox jumped on the Rabbit and ate him.
Rhetorical
devices:
- Metaphor: The Rabbit (people who are lazy, a bit stupid do not know his position in society); The Crow (people whose status are high in society understand their value).
- A rhetorical question: Why not? (to emphasize that it is ok, no problem).
Message:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting
very high position.
Item 3: Cartoon [3]
HOT! Rò rỉ hình ảnh được cho là iPhone 9 sau khi iPhone 5 xuất hiện trên thị trường♥
Rhetorical
devices:
- Overstatement: Iphone 9 is only longer than iphone 5 and 4S in the future.
=> In
comparing with iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 doesn’t a lot of advance.
Message:
Iphone 5 don’t meet consumers’ expectation

Hi, there! I like your item 1. It makes me think about lunches at canteen. However, in my opinion, the poem tells about terrible lunches at school and students should not take meals at refectories!^^
Trả lờiXóaIn item 1, i dont think that the message is going out for lunch. maybe it is bringing your lunch as the title of poem
Trả lờiXóahi, could you explain your message in the item 1? i don't think the message like that. i also want to add a rhetorical service: rhyme: lick-sick, ill-will
Trả lờiXóaI agree with Quynh Anh. Besides, I want to add a rhetorical in the item 1: The repetition: They might make you.
Trả lờiXóaIn the item 3, I don't think that the Iphone 5 meets the people's expectation or not with this picture. I think the picture tells about the rumour in technology.
Trả lờiXóaI also think that in the item 1, there is the rhetorical device: Rhyme. lick-sick; ill-will
Trả lờiXóaHi! i don't agree with ur opinion abt the message of the item 1. it shows that we shouldn't have lunch at school because it migh make you nouseous and even make u ill. therefore, i think that it will be better to have lunch at home.
