The Corner Stone (For Father's Day)
The father is the source of strength of his family.
He can weather storm in order to protect them.
He will endure rain or shine to provide his love ones.
He is always ready to give his support and guidance all the time.
The father is consistent for his duty and love for the family.
He can move mountains and shy away the temptation.
He gives himself fully to his family with love and devotion.
Children who have a father to guide them are blessed from heaven.
A husband is a gift for his wife and siblings.
The fathers may look tough in the outside yet so soft inside.
His happiness is to see his family well provided.
He sacrifices his own needs for the sake of his family.
Fathers may mean sometimes but his heart is bleeding for his child.
Fathers are the makers of what we become.
Fathers are always there to lend a helping hand.
Fathers sometimes misunderstood of his wisdom not knowing the meaning.
Fathers are gifted to be strong and stable, firm and durable as the homes foundation.
The father is the source of life itself as we become a family.
A home without a father cannot be a family at all.

A mother is blessed to have her partner and companion in life.

Message: the poem emphasizes the important role and the sacrifice
of the father in the family. A home cannot be a family without a father. Therefore,
we must respect and thanks our father.
Item 3: A story
The
Shoshone "Ladies Fancy Shawl Dance" Butterfly Legend
Many, many years ago when the Earth was still quite new, there was
a beautiful butterfly that lost her mate in battle. To show her grief, she took
off her beautiful wings and wrapped herself in a drab cocoon. In her sadness,
she could not eat and she could not sleep and her relatives kept coming to her
lodge to see if she was okay.
Of course she wasn't, but she didn't want to be a burden on her
people so she packed up her wings and her medicine bundle and took off on a
long journey. She wandered about for many days and months, until finally she
had gone all around the world.
On her journey she kept her eyes downcast and
stepped on each stone she came to as she crossed fields and creeks and streams.
Finally, one day as she was looking down, she happened to notice the stone
beneath her feet, and it was so beautiful that it healed her sorrow.
She then cast aside her cocoon, shook the dust from her wings, and
donned them once more. She was so happy she began to dance to give thanks for
another chance to begin her life anew. Then she went home and told The People
about her long journey and how it had healed her.
Rhetorical Devices
- Metaphor: butterfly=> a beautiful girl who is deeply in love
with her mate, difficult to get over the sorrow of his death.
- Parallelism: cast aside her cocoon, shook the dust from her
wings, and donned them one more
Message: There are many beautiful things outside, we should open
our heart and discovered them, and we will see our life is really beautiful and
meaningful.
Hi, there! your cartoon in the item 1 is so interesting. However, there are some differences between our opinions. I think it shows more and more visible global warming happening in north pole which affects its ecology.

Trả lờiXóaAs I see, the animals in the North Pole play and enjoy the activities which happen commonly at a beach. So I think the message of this item is The global warming makes the ice melting in the North Pole seriously, which affects the lives of many animals there.
