  A Light Exists in Spring

A Light exists in Spring
Not present on the Year
At any other period --
When March is scarcely here

A Color stands abroad
On Solitary Fields
That Science cannot overtake
But Human Nature feels.

It waits upon the Lawn,
It shows the furthest Tree
Upon the furthest Slope you know
It almost speaks to you.

Then as Horizons step
Or Noons report away
Without the Formula of sound
It passes and we stay --

A quality of loss
Affecting our Content
As Trade had suddenly encroached
Upon a Sacrament.

Rhetorical:

_ rhyme: year- here, fields-feel, away- stay.

_ simile: the loss of  light spring - encroached trade  upon sacrament.

_ climax: wait-> show-> speak.

Message:  the light in spring draws a beautiful picture, it makes everything brighter   but  also put  the pity after passing

                                                      Item2: fable

The Farmer and the Snake

    ONE WINTER a Farmer found a Snake stiff and frozen with cold. He had compassion on it, and taking it up, placed it in his bosom. The Snake was quickly revived by the warmth, and resuming its natural instincts, bit its benefactor, inflicting on him a mortal wound. "Oh," cried the Farmer with his last breath, "I am rightly served for pitying a scoundrel." The greatest kindness will not bind the ungrateful.

Metaphor:     _ the farmer: the kind and nice people

                      _ the snake: the cruel people.

Paradox: I am rightly served for pitying a scoundrel.

Message: some people are so ungrateful that they are even cruel to their benefactors.
