Discrimination
Analysis: In the picture, the recruiter says that the woman is “not the
right man for the job”. It is sexual discrimination
in workplace that happens many places in the world. It is not true that only
men can get the job done well but people still prefer men to pursuit higher
career or have a good job/position.
Item 2:
Prejudice
Analysis: The educational quality in private schools is often assumed as not good as public schools and it is partly true (not all schools), in fact. However, this title emphasizes Đào Duy Từ high school is the only one of all private schools to have a national excellent student. It means that a private school which has an excellent student like Trần Anh Vũ is nearly impossible because of poor educational quality.

Stereotype
Analysis: All the folk- songs and proverb above expresses the familiar thought of Vietnamese that when loving girls often care about intelligence of the men, in contrast men concern about the beauty of girls. Actually, there are many men like a good girl (soft manners, intelligent, cute, good- natured…) in characteristics rather than the appearance of her. Also, ability of men is not everything. A sympathetic, thoughtful and good- looking man is also very important with many girls.

I think in the item 3,
Trả lờiXóa- You should indentify the stereotype in which sentence.
- Besides the stereotype, there is prejudice toward ugly girls and good men in the second and third examples.
in item 2: i think that it is not prejudice. because what the writer write is based on statistic. so, i think that there is no bias here.
Trả lờiXóathanks
I think that item 2 is not prejudice but ASSUMPTION. The concept of "prejudice " is " a negative judgment" and this item just a conclusion based on limited knowledge of the fact.
Trả lờiXóaYep, item 2 is not prejudice.Ms Hang explains much more clearer about your opinion: Assumption, couldn't you?
XóaItem 3:
Trả lờiXóa1. "Gái tham tài, trai tham sắc" proverb is just to mention about different views of men and women. Its is not a stereotype or an one-side assessment.
2. About the third one, people denote the value of honorable men. We could learn many of the precious lessons from them than from stupids.
